During the tost decades of the twentieth century and the early third millennium, the demographic situa-tion in Moldova is characterized by negative trends in the natural movement of population. Analysis of the main indicators of socio-economic and demographic statistical materials In recent years allow to determine in which direction the country's demographic processes are growing. The changes that occur in the demo-graphic phenomena in Moldova are similar to the changes that occurred in Europe 15-20 years ago, which also indicated the progressive demographic crisis. This crisis is manifested by unprecedented birth rate drop over the last decade against the background of general mortality in the same period. This led to reduced natural growth, which already has negative values, decreasing the population. Currently the birth rate in Moldova is lowest among the other world's states.
