This article addresses the issue of labor migration in the European Union. The analysis of the contributions showed a general support for a common EU policy an labour immigration, albeit with important differences in the approaches to be followed and in the expected end result. Building on the existing framework, this Policy Plan defines a road-map for the remaining period of The Hague Programme and lists the actions and legislative initiatives that the Commission intends to take, so as to pursue the coherent development of the EU legal migration policy. It also responds to the Commission’s Lisbon programme.
