Despite the diversity of areas in which states establish relations with each other, the specific conditions in which they interact, their different degree of development and power, the behaviors of international actors can be studied systematically by reducing them to three major classes: cooperation, competition, and confrontation. Although, apparently, they are excluded, in reality, the same two or more states can define their relations between them, simultaneously, both through cooperation and through competition and confrontation.
