Articolul analizează fluxul emigrațional din Republica Moldova spre SUA în baza datelor statistice oferite de instituțiile specializate. Se cercetează modalitățile de emigrare, motivele care stau la baza luării deciziei de emigrare și interacțiunea cu comunitatea gazdă. Un interes deosebit prezintă legătura cu țara de origine, sursele de informare ale emigranților privind evenimentele social-politice. Asociațiile comunităților de moldoveni aflați în SUA constituie un potențial important pentru dezvoltarea Republicii Moldova, aceștia posedă un nivel de cunoștințe și abilități care ar putea fi implementate cu succes în țara de orgine.

The article analyzes the emigration flow from the Republic of Moldova to the US based on statistical data provided by specialized institutions. It investigates the ways of emigration, the reasons behind the decision to emigrate and the interaction with the host community. The connection with the country of origin and the sources of information of the emigrants on social-political events are of particular interest . Associations of Moldovan communities in the US are an important potential for the development of the Republic of Moldova. They have a level of knowledge and skills that could be successfully implemented in the country of origin.
