The development of a modern academic library is characterized by an increase in the speed of changes taking place in the information space, the education system and the scientifc communication, which have a signifcant impact on modern directions of library activities. In recent years, due to the implementation of information and telecommunications technologies, increased competition in the market of educational services, globalization of science and education, the emergence of scientifc projects, etc. in the higher education as a whole, as well as in the activities of the university libraries, signifcant changes can be observed.
