This article is dedicated to the 110"' anniversary of the great Romanian scientist, philosopher and literary critic of Jewish origin Tudor Vianu. He is considered the father of modem Romanian aesthetics. His major works which arc presented in our article arc: The Judgment of Values in Schiller 's Poetics (1923). Aesthetics, a work in two volumes (1934-1936). The Art of Romanian Prose Writers (1941) and The Theses of a Philosophy of the Work (1946) We describe these famous works using quotes from some remarkable literary critics like Nicolae Manolescu. Constantin Ciopraga and George Calinescu. We give also a short description of the literary and scientific activity of his son Ion Vianu, a well-known writer and psychiatrist. In conclusion we emphasize Tudor Vianu as significant role in the development of the Romanian literary science.
